Philippine Tarsier and Sea Turtles Under Threat from Tourism and Habitat Loss

The Philippine Tarsier one of the world’s smallest primates, endemic to Bohol is declining rapidly due to deforestation and uncontrolled tourism. Meanwhile, Philippine sea turtles continue to face threats from illegal poaching, plastic pollution, and loss of nesting beaches. Conservation groups are calling on local government units to enforce stricter tourism guidelines near tarsier sanctuaries and establish more marine protected areas for sea turtles.
